How to choose materials for sheet metal processing?

There are also a lot of materials for sheet metal processing. How should I choose materials?

Sheet metal processing generally uses aluminum plates (6061, 5052, 1010, 1060, 6063, hard aluminum, etc.), aluminum profiles, stainless steel (mirror, brushed, matte), copper (CU): brass, copper, Beryllium copper, cold rolled sheet (SPCC), hot rolled sheet (SHCC), galvanized sheet (SECC, SGCC), etc.
We should choose different materials according to the function of the product. Generally speaking, we need to consider the use and cost of the product.
Sheet metal processing

1. Aluminum plate: generally used for surface chromate (J11-A), oxidation (conductive oxidation, chemical oxidation), high cost, silver plating, nickel plating.

2. Aluminum profiles: materials with complex cross-section structures are used in a large number of insert boxes. The surface treatment is the same as that of aluminum plate.

3. Stainless steel: mainly used for sheet metal parts without any surface treatment, the cost is a bit high.

4. Copper: It is mainly used for conductive materials. Its surface treatment is nickel-plated, chrome-plated, or left untreated, and the cost is high.

5. Cold rolled sheet SPCC: mainly used for electroplating and baking paint parts, low cost, easy to form, material thickness ≤ 3.2mm.

6. Hot rolled sheet SHCC: material T≥3.0mm, also used for electroplating and baking paint parts, low cost, but difficult to form, mainly used for flat parts.

7. Galvanized sheet SECC, SG.
